If it’s any consolation, I had Lorelei at first, but I did get to Mr Diamond without falling for a mermaid along the way.

As a died-in-the-wool rock’n'roll fan (listening at the moment to Billy Fury) I would never categorize him as Rock (more like 8 across in today’s Toughie) and am the proud owner of absolutely none of his recordings.

There was no way I’d find the right answer, so 1dn, 2dn and 3dn were lost to me.
I even thought 2dn might be RECENT (hidden word) which would have been a poor clue!

My worst result for a very long time.
