I don't think that the Telegraph have a deliberate policy of making some days harder than others - it's just pot luck whether you get an easier or a harder puzzle. It also depends on whether you're on the same wavelength as the compiler - sometimes the answers just come, at other times you have to struggle with every clue. Good luck! Hi Miles,
