ScrewedUp News – Mar 21

Edition 11

+ – + – + – + – + – + – + – + – + – +

Mar 23 – I’m not sure when it happened, but Codewords No 1255 has now been updated, as usual it now has a completely different set of numbers.

It’s Saturday again, so it’s time for another edition of ScrewedUp News!!

If you try to access the Giant GK crossword No 12254 through the home page then, guess what? – yes, you get last week’s.  You need to access it via one of the other pages, like “Play Puzzles”.

Also there are errors in GK Quick No 87 and Codewords No 1255:

For GK Quick No 87, 10 across should read “Stephen King novel (3,5)” – you might have problems finding an 8-letter title that fits!!

It wouldn’t be a Saturday if the Codewords was correct!

Using a notation similar to that used for the chessboard, each square is identified with a unique letter/number pair. The vertical columns are labeled A through M (from the left) and the horizontal rows are numbered from 1 to 13 (from the top).  Each square of the crossword is uniquely identified by its column letter and row number.

For Codewords No 12555,  Libellule reports and Mrs BD confirms:

G8, G11 and L9  should all be numbered 2 (not 1)

They seem to have fixed the Giant GK links.

Select the home page and it still points to GK 12253.

I see now. You mean the one in the brown box. I missed that one as I never use it.

The one in the column headed puzzles was the one I looked at, and that one is OK.

I always use the brown box, as I know they are the only ones I haven’t done (usually!).
